Badshahi Masjid,Lahore

The Badshahi Masjid, literally the 'King's Mosque', was built in 1673 by Aurangzeb in Lahore. It epitomises the beauty and grandeur of the Mughal era. The architecture and design of the Badshahi Masjid is closely related to the Jamia Masjid in Delhi, India, which was built in 1648 by Aurangzeb's father and predecessor, emperor Shah Jahan.

The exterior of Badshahi Mosque is decorated with such panels of bold relief of marble inlay on red sandstone. The embellishment has Indo-Greek, Central Asian and Indian architectural influence both in technique and motifs

Tones, crop & composition all great, focus is sharp DOF goes on for miles.... hard to fault it. I would like to have seen a HDR rendered version of this shot which would hopefully have helped some of the detail emerge from the shadows towards the roof.

You know, I have planned many times, to visit this with my camera but everytime something unusual happened, and I could not go there, and believe me I had in my mind to take a similar kind of shot from inside its looooong looooong corridors.
