Beautiful remains..

Beautiful remains.. by ManishJaju.
These tuberoses seemed to have been abandoned by their seller, perhaps because they were no longer as fresh as some others.. lying quietly in a corner, to me they appeared so beautiful, calm and serene i could not have missed them..

Will be glad to hear your comments..

BTW,Tuberoses in Hindi are called Rajnigandha (derived from the two words - Rajni, meaning night, and Gandha meaning smell/ fragrance in this case. I guess the fragrance of these flowers is strongest at night). Well, there seems to be no direct translation between the names in the two languages :) - Thanks Rashmie for mentioning the Hindi name; prompted me to share it here :)

Like you I feel so bad to see some not make it to the market gloriously, I even ask few florist if I could just take the ones they dump, they look at me as say buy the good ones!! I pay couple dollars for a bunch that they dump (which should be free!! just to give them a day or two of glory!!

Even before I read your note - that they were abandoned - I thought these are so fresh and nice...
I love rajnigandha and I could almost feel the 'khusboo' around me..!
And then, the whole setting looks so calm and nice with the wet gunny bag underneath. Adds a wonderful texture to the pic. The marigold petals add that accent colour...Nice! My fav!

Oh how sad to see such beautiful things left to wither and die unnoticed and unappreciated. Great capture though.
