Floods in Rotherham

Floods in Rotherham by Mandar Marathe.
A month's rain fell in a few hours in South Yorkshire. Many areas of Sheffield and Rotherham were flooded. Most of Rotherham was without electricity.

This is one of the main roads in Rotherham, between Parkgate and the town centre. The police are warning the van driver and his friend that the road ahead is completely unpassable (see photo). But he's just determined to prove a point and give it a go! So he charged in, only to have to turn around a few seconds later...

Im sure the opportunists who had vehicles that towed made a bit of cash from all the people that thought their cars would make it threw... I saw loads of people trying to get thru various flood points! I dunno!
