I love the long shape, I have never seen acorns like that before!

Just a word to the wise in case this happens to you--we brought oak acorns inside once and after a couple of days the wormies came out of them. Yuck!

They were gathered by my mother-in-law who lives in CA. She doesn't know what kinds of tree they came from. All our acorns around here are the typical variety, although we do find occasional black ones.
