Eventually, there was no more beach ball, and the dad fashioned the kid a new hat out of the remnants. I got to watch the game. Everyone was happy, except Sunglasses At Night who was pouting.

The kid should have been happy, he got a new hat out of the episode. You need to put a deflated beach ball symbol on your dodger hat for each one you've destroyed. It really shouldn't be that hard for people to figure out why serious fans would dislike them.

It always amazes me how many people waste their money by going to a sports game (baseball, hockey, whatever) and do something other than watch the game, like have a business meeting, talk on their cell phone to their friends, play with a beach ball or whatever.

If you want to piss away your money like that, give it to me. Otherwise, stay home. Your presence isn't contributing to the game one bit and you're probably ruining it for someone who is unfortunate to be sitting near you.

This is why I am a hockey fan - try that crap at a hockey game, and you'll wind up getting your @ss kicked by a bunch of irate fans. Even if they are sitting in nosebleed country. :-D

@BOCTAOE - ha, me too! (usually) the action is pretty non-stop so don't get in my way when I'm watching! Besides, the tickets are so frickin' expensive, you'd better not interrupt my enjoyment of the game!

Indoor lacrosse is the same way. I had an asshole a few rows in front of me at a game earlier in the year. Our whole section managed to get him thrown out because he was being such an obnoxious fool.

@wskrz - lemme guess : you're a Toronto fan, aintcha? ;-D

Me - I started out rooting for Detroit (this was back in the late 60s), then got sucked into the NY Rangers by the rest of my family. Today, I follow whomever's games are on the tube. But I'm still a Rangers fan at heart.

@BOCTAOE - LOL!! How'd ya guess? I'll occasionally cheer for the Colorado Avalanche because I'm in the territory. Not when they're playing the Leafs though.

@wskrz - this sentence: "(usually) the action is pretty non-stop so don't get in my way when I'm watching!". One of my wife's friends lives in Montreal, her son is a big Maple Leafs fan, and that is pretty much how they describe the "experience".
Plus, I looked at your profile, saw you were Canadian, and figured you had to be rooting for one of the original 6. It was a 50/50 shot between Montreal and Toronto for me at that point. :-D

Oh, I dunno, there's always beer to be ordered during a hockey game. That can be a bit distracting. Here, even in the good seats, people show up an hour late, and CEOs leave early.
