Stupid Hummer

is this what he did to afford this vehicle?

I risked life and limb for this. The guy in the Hummer was about to back out and I felt certain if he saw me taking this he would have run right over me because we all know people who drive Hummers have no brains and no feelings and are generally antisocial. But I took it anyway, for the good of humanity. It's so nice being queen of the world.

It's shots like this that make me question my safety driving my Honda Insight around... granted, in Jersey, but the Hummer drivers are no smarter over here than they are by you.

People can buy and drive whatever they want. it's their money. When they start doing stupid stuff, like taking up two compact spaces and driving like they have a sports car, that's when you should get your dander up. It's not the car, it's the person.

The sad thing is that these are very capable off road vehicles. But, I have to hate them because hardly anyone buys them for that reason. Being able to buy whatever we want isn't always good for us.

Chelsea Tractors we call them. WAY too big for the ancient and narrow roads of our fair city, they would be great in the countryside but they never get anywhere near a muddy lane or winding hill road.

Just to school with Portia and Tarquin and to clog up the already too busy roads with a wide, unparkable behemoth.

I drive a Nissan Murano, which is a hybrid SUV, and I love it. I don't default to hating SUVs just because they're SUVs. I do dislike the whole line of civilian Hummers though. I also dislike Suburbans and the other vehicles of those sizes. But, if you want a specific cut-off point, I'd say an SUV with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 6,000 pounds is large, since that's the dividing line between light and heavy trucks. From a Slate article: "...the Clean Air Act defines "heavy duty vehicle" as a truck with a gross vehicle weight "in excess of six thousand pounds.""
