Xenophobia

Appalling headlines have appeared in the British tabloid press recently inciting hyseria and racism.

The truth is that the new immigrants have rejuvenated an ageing population, filled gaps in the labour market and fuelled economic growth. We should welcome them.

Well, I used to be one of those immigrants... I worked in a hotel with people from other Eastern Europe countries and from South America - the whole stuff was non-British, even a manager was from Brasil. The hotel guests were British people only. I wander if they ever thought who would run the hotel if not us - immigrants? where would they spend holidays, who would wash their clothes, clean their rooms and cook for them? you usually do not notice our existence among you but, sorry, you wouldn't manage without us - workers from Eastern Europe, Pakistan, Bangladesh and so on. So how many more can you take - ask yourself how many more do you NEED?
