Meltdown: The Economic Collapse and a People's Plan for Recovery

MANHATTAN, NY.

Overflow crowd.

The event, "Meltdown: The Economic Collapse and a People's Plan for Recovery, New York Society for Ethical Culture."

Organized by the Nation Institute and held at the Society for Ethical Culture on W. 64th St.

It's exciting to see how many people turned out for a discussion of progressive economics at 8 o'clock on a Friday night. The main auditorium at the Center for Ethical Culture holds 800. When I got home, 300 people were watching the live stream of the event on The Uptake.

We're seeing a turning point in our nation's political history. I've been going to these kinds of events for most of my 30 years on the planet, and I'm just not used to waiting in line. What a feeling! Finally, we've got more people than seats. I never thought I'd live to see the day.
