Day Three:

Today has been blah. The school schedule was all messed up because of homecoming tonight (not going) and all day long people kept showing up in classes handing out notices that senior photos need to be turned in or that college counseling appointments need to be made or that we need to figure out what the hell we're doing with our lives. All this future planning stuff makes me feel all edgy. I haven't got it figured out yet. Well... sort of. I want to hike. To take months and months of time off from the real world and escape into the woods. But really, I don't have any idea how I'm going to make that happen. I'll need money, so I'll need a job and according to every adult I've talked to about this recently, I'll need a college degree to get a job. That will take years. By the time I'm done, I'll be too busy being a normal adult, weighed down with responsibilities, to run off into the wild.
I keep hoping that one morning I'll wake up and without any real effort or stress involved, I'll know exactly what I want to do and how to accomplish it.

This isn't a good mood to be in around other people. They either brush away your worries or fall into them with you. But I've got plans to have a movie party with some friends tonight, so I guess I'll be putting my mind on hold until tomorrow.

Day two:

Got up early this morning and made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I'm actually happy with how they turned out (for once). Usually I burn everything, but these are surprisingly edible.
Went off to school, doodled and daydreamed through my classes, came home and went for a seven mile run through the park.
I feel all calm and peaceful. I didn't really do anything terribly impressive today... but at least I don't have any homework so it doesn't really matter.
Autumn starts tomorrow. I'm more than a hundred percent ready to put on a big cozy sweater, make some tea and go off exploring the the golden hues of this season.
