Alternate Version: Sleeping Brat Fest in Black and White

Usually I have a clear preference for either the color or the black and white version of a photograph, but in this case I can't make up my mind. What do you think?

nice shot! the b/w version has a tighter crop, and has a greater emphasis on shape and pattern...

Thanks, ststok -- yeah, there didn't seem to be much point in keeping the yellow flowers in the foreground in B/W.

I think I like the B&w more too...

when i was there I was very tempted to shoot at the ferris wheel, but I figured it would be the most over-shot thing there.. So I tried to steer away..

      I prefer the B/W.

They're both pretty close in my mind. Therefore...

Color, hands down. When shooting digital, black and white is an effect, and if the effect doesn't add anything, skip it.

I've thought about a few points to add to what I just wrote 33 seconds ago... suffice to say, I could probably talk about this for a while and argue any point of view fairly convincingly.

I agree the tighter crop works better but like both color and b/w versions probably about the same. They each create a slightly different experience but then you have a 2fer.

hmmm...I typically like color, but i think the B&W makes it more special in this case (the colors are not special). Also the crop is nicer.

It would be best at night though with a long exposure and the wheel spining and spinning ;)

Tor - hasn't that shot kinda been done to death though?
