Chatikona is a very small place about 40km away from Rayagada. I rented a car to get there, and as the road is a collection of enormous potholes, it took the driver 2 1/2 hours to get us there! It really looked like the surface of the moon.
As Chatikona is part of the Adivasi tourist trail, one can always see buses loaded with tourists, but as I could stay much longer, I had ample time to walk around, look, and take pictures, many with the Apo-Telyt 180mm, sitting in a corner,as I didn't want to disturb the people and take their pictures right in front of their noses.

Street enlargements in India work like this: on both sides of the road the depth of one room is chopped away from every house. I have seen this many times.
