Mesa Arch, One Early May Afternoon
The famous Mesa Arch, framing the canyon floor and the distant La Salle Mountains. We decided to make the hike back to this location even though had just received about 6 inches of hail with very strong winds. Just as we got to the arch, the sun broke through the clouds, illuminating the arch and the mountains on the horizon.

Spring Storm at St. Catherine's Chapel
A spring thunderstorm blows about the historic stone church of St. Catherine's, also known locally as "The Church on the Rock." Amazingly, in spite of the storm, the small pool created by the mountain stream at the base of the church was calm enough to produce quite a nice reflection.
