Was this a Sunrise? You have some pretty colors in the sky & the clouds. Really interesting to me how this little area is built right next to the edge of the sea. One would think that if the sea got really wild the waves would & could crash right over the wall. Maybe the wall are much higher than it appear on the photo.

Hey Lynn... this is a fortress built near the entrance of Guanabara Bay to protect the city from invaders a long time ago. This side is inside the bay, and the walls are really high though they don't look like. It was taken at sunset, but there was so much fog...

What a setting. I wouldn't worry about the fog, as I think it adds to the mystique. The capture is so nice and fresh that one can actually smell the salt air. Terrific, Marco. By the way, I am very happy to see that I am having to scroll down quite a ways before adding my comment. Fantastic.
