Hawaii Superferry
|
The photos in this set are mostly of the
Hawaii Superferry's Alakai, which plied
the island waters between Oahu and Maui
from December 2007 to March 2009. On
March 16, 2009 at the relentess
insistence of environmental wacko groups
such as the Sierra Club, the Hawaii
State Supreme court ruled a law that
allowed the Superferry to run while an
EIS was being done, unconstitutional.
The legal action forced Hawaii
Superferry to shut down its operation,
lay off hundreds of employees and
discontinue service.
The environmental wackos and their
political supporters (consisting of the
likes of Senators Kalani English, Gary
Hooser, etc.) are largely to blame for
this action. This is a classic case of
the tyranny of the minority ruining
things for the majority of the people
and businesses who want the Superferry
service to continue.
