She's not blind, because the guy that sculpted her supposedly said that she was "too beautiful" to cover with a blindfold. But at the time, the British were still in power, and unlike most statues of justice, this one looks IN towards the courts, and not out at the people. Also, water kept running down her arm into one side of the scales, so that it was never even. The running joke was that you couldn't expect true justice from the English. The English then drilled a hole in the bottom of the scale to drain out the water. Looks like it still isn't level though. Nice picture.
