The Queen of Mara

The Queen of Mara

During an earlier trip to Masai Mara, we caught up with this huge pride of Lions just waking up from their afternoon siesta.
This is the original photograph of the earlier Lioness which had been converted to Black & White.
There were various comments of Lions looking better in their natural colours.
I guess Black & White only appeals to selected people who have tasted B&W prints from the Film days gone by.

The B & W Queen of Mara

The B & W Queen of Mara

This is another photograph of one of the Lionesses from the Talek pride seen in Masai Mara. This picture was taken from very close and is posted at 100% without any cropping.
This is an experiment of B & W Filters which I have never used before.

Scanning the horizon!

Scanning the horizon!

This is one of the three Cheetah brothers seen in Masai Mara.
Cheetah brothers normally form a coalition and stay together for life. The advantage of numbers are great and can easily take down bigger prey like Wildbeest and Impala. Whilst the lone female would rather go for a Thompson's gazelle which is smaller and more manageable.
