Beauty Dish

Beauty Dish

In it's almost complete form. I love how a) this image is almost monochromatic, and b) if you lower the contrast enough, there is *still* detail in the shadow area to the left.

I finished with a little more white on the inside of the dish, cleaned up the outside with some more black, and then got the inner dish with white. I was thinking of hitting it with black, on the side showing, but now that I've looked, I'm a little glad I messed up and hit it with the white paint first. looks like it should catch/bounce just a teeny tiny bit of light. Also, clear coated the bejeezus out of it. :) at least 2-4 coats. Two on the black side, and probably closer to 4 on the white side. I'm also tempted to sand down some of the sections on the inside where I can see the drips forming, and clear coat again, less aggressively. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. :)

Still Alive!

Still Alive!

Hey there Flickr contacts! Just letting you know, that I'm still alive! :) Also, I may or may not be a pro still. I think it's expired. I'm not sure just yet, nor am I sure that I'll renew. Thoughts? Also, I love my new 50/1.4G lens! ;)

Sticks

Sticks

So, some of my friends are musicians, and they had their debut concert last night. This is one of the few still shots from the night. 13Gb of video later, I have to figure out what to do, and how to do it. :) Moderno Trio videos to come....

Fog at dusk

Fog at dusk

The next time I'm at dad's house, I want to try to capture this, more. This is just barely capturing it.

I think the first step would be... go outside. It's hard to see here, but the kitchen lights are intruding on the exposure. Also, tripod. so I can use something under 6400ISO ;) I just want everything...
