@insipidsky: I used the 300 / 4.0 lens + 1.4 extender on a 40D, the image is a crop.
@innaminnafly, Susie Jay: the next one is July 2009!
@relevant.impressionist: yes, it is, the good thing with solar eclipses being that you can have that lifetime experience more than once. ;-) (This was my 3rd.)

@drumm2dmb: nothing fancy, really: 40D + 300/4 lens + 1.4x extender on a sturdy tripod. The only difficulty is keeping the sun in the viewfinder, as I was using a normal ballhead and no equatorial mount. The image here is a crop, of course.
