River Ouse, York

River Ouse, York

Autumn in the middle of the city of York, Yorkshire. Skeldergate Bridge (one of three in the city itself) is visible through the trees. York castle is over to the right, just outside the photo. If you walk into the photo under the arch of the bridge, you'll end up right in the heart of the city.

2 photos stitched together with a little work on the values (tones). Not changed the colour.

Swaledale

Swaledale

Having climbed up from Hawes (up and over the hill to the right), this is the valley that greets you. Warm day with a haze in the distance which never lifted, though the light in the near distance was bright and crisp - early October. A classic dales view.

3 photos stitched together - no colour adjustment. At a small size, the trees in the middle distance look repeated... they're not. Odd.

Scarborough South Bay

Scarborough South Bay

Taken as the long shadows of evening began creeping over the landscape (middle distance). Scarborough Castle is on the headland for those not local.

---
Again, two photos quickly stitched together. Upped the colour intensity a smidge and sharpened.

Bridlington Bay

Bridlington Bay

In the distance is the seaside town of Bridlington. The long-long sweeping bay stretches out along the horizon where it looks to be raining. Love how three dimensional the clouds are in this photograph.

On the right of the photo, the sandy beach area is where Danes Dyke opens out - where I'd left the car and strolled along the cliff top enjoying how close-by the swifts swooped passed, both to me and the high grasses along the cliff edge. Sublime day.

------
Two photos stitched together, sharpened. The foreground range of tones was widened and the colour saturation given a very gentle boost (in the grasses only). The foreground was quite dark, loosing the texture and vitality of the grass. However, hopefully, the foreground does not distract.. it was a fine line.

Ship Ahoy

Ship Ahoy

Sitting out in Bridlington bay was a navy ship. I just like the colour scheme, minimal composition and subtle changes in the ocean surface. The only thing I would have retouched out would be the cloud top right corner. But well...
----
Cropped very slightly in order to straighten it up. No other work.
