Adobe Product icons by Luke Dorny (luxuryluke).
So, i guess i wasn't that far off (see previous post) with what the new Adobe icons would look like. They've ALL been fleshed out (a term which you'll never hear me use again, pff).
According to Ryan Hicks, complexity does not equal information, and that simplicity many times is much easier and clear.
I have to agree with him, but i don't think i'll be the only user wondering which app does LR apply to…?

Interesting to see how Flash, Flash paper and the Acrobat, PDF icons are bunched together.... I am sure there are going to be some interesting developments there.

Hmm, interesting. Still kind of boring through. Very business-like, but then again, isn't Adobe being run by a sales guy now anyway?

Can anyone list what all the icons are for?

I can only recognise the major apps.

John, I just had a long discussion here at work about this wheel.
I doubt that the location on this wheel has anything to do with function, insomuch as the colors are similar for a reason.

In Flash' case, it's brand color was so close to Acrobat's, I think it's just a coincidence that they are such close neighbors.

What I mean is, it's tempting to think that there's a reason, but I think this wheel is only for icon color, and that's about it.

I see I'm not the only one trying to figure out all of the apps.

I think Adobe already said something about Acrobat and Flash Player being pushed together somehow, didn't they?

Since you posted in the Typeface ID group, I'll take a stab at it. I think it may be a customized Cronos, with characters modified for clarity (the 'l' in 'Fl' has a tail so it is not mistaken for a cap 'I').

Ah, good guess, Stew. Actually, since posting this, and the guess that i did on flickr of the CS3 box, I've discovered that the font isn't actually released yet.

You can read a smidge about it here:
blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2006/12/whats_up_with_t he_icon.html...

Though here is an excerpt from that page: "The lettering on the new icons was designed by modern type legend Robert Slimbach. According to Ryan [Hicks], "The mnemonics use a custom cut of Gauge, a typeface Robert has currently in development. It was his recommendation that the type work the way it does, mixing upper/lower and cap/small cap based on both phonetics and aesthetics. He breathed a bit of life into the system for sure."

Nice job, spotting them like this.

PS: I think the blue/green "Au" would be Adobe Audition.
