Trails With Rails

Victoria is embarking on a project to construct a new trail alongside the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway. This gallery includes photos from the corridor as well as examples from other jurisdictions. The sequence of photos is being worked to fllow first the E&N trail project in greater Victoria and is starting to show some elements in progress, along with before and after pictures.

As the rail line reaches further up Vancouver Island, more sections are illustrated in the Cowichan Valley, where a small section through Chemainus has been completed, and through Nanaimo where a longer trail has been built.

Other facilities shown include a project in White Rock, near Vancouver, 2.5 km of a trail with rail in Kelowna, in the interior of British Columbia, some urban trail facilities in Seattle, another in Portland and a few shots from a trail with rail in Madison, Wisconsin.
