Quebec City

Quebec City by looseends.
We took a trip to Quebec City. It has been more than twenty years since I visited.

I am still amazed that it takes just 5 hours by car to reach an old European City.

I love this perspective on the city. I've always wanted to visit this area.

What is really cool about this photo as well - it almost looks like a little model city! Have you ever seen those tilt-shift shots? This one would be perfect for that surreal look.

Yes, I think those ladders are there for shingle repair.

Thanks for that link! My husband commented on how the buildings in the photo look like models.

We considered going to Quebec City last week, but Georgia won out. Hopefully we'll get there next year (only four hours for us!).

It was chilly and windy but not at all crowded which I appreciated.

Lovely shot. I've only been to Quebec in February--skiing at Mt. St Anne and visiting the city when it was too cold to ski. Too cold to ski--not any better for sightseeing!

I'll have to pick your brain, but we probably won't go until next spring. I like the sound of "not at all crowded". :)

i do love that city. i ended up there to live a short while - i was totally unprepared for the Winter and headed back West in November.

As we wandered around the old city I saw a few for rent signs which triggered all sorts of daydreams. I visited in the winter 20 + years ago and remember the cold (more intense than Maine).

This reminds me of an image from the film version of Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Snow Queen.'
