I was driving west on 14 Mile in Fraser and was at the light at Utica Road when I spotted this gas station and the price they have listed for gas. I couldn't stop laughing and had to snap a photo. I don't think the station is in business since no one was there but ugh, could you imagine if we had to pay that much per gallon for fuel?!

This photo is part of Michigan travel incentives in response to gas prices on Absolute Michigan.
Thanks for adding to the Absolute Michigan pool and I have to say that I think we will see the day of $9 a gallon gas ... and that that day won't be as far away as we'd hope.

That station was owned by some arab dude who price gouged by raising prices dramatically on the day of the 9-11 attacks. His name is Tom. He was a nice man to talk to, but a creep in terms of business. He wouldn't even cut his lousy grass, a tiny patch between the sidewalk and the street. One day I showed up with some lawn equipment. He asked me why I was cutting his grass (weeds). I told him it was an attempt to help beautify the city. He shrugged it off. The weeds would get so tall I was tempted to put price tags on them, like a nursery. The Speedway gas station across the street was constantly flooded with customers, while his station got little business. Then one day the station closed. Now it sits vacant.
