aww its sad that you pick on her like that. Its obviously painful when she walks. Instead of bashing her you should be mowing it for her and be thankful youre not obese and can walk.

yes, I'm sure that for thousands and thousands of years of human evolution and "survival of the fittest" that obesity is a completely normal and naturally occurring thing.
OR it could be that our society feels bad for obese people and does everything for them.

No, we shouldn't be mowing her lawn. She should be mowing it herself trying to lose the weight.

You let it start, and then don't fix it. and this is the outcome.

And this picture is freakin hilarious.

Give her credit. What she's doing is more exercise than hiring someone, and she might not be able to afford a yard service. I think you should get your lazy ass over there and offer to help.

totally not hte laziest lawn mower... that woman looks exactly like my mom and she has that same wheelchair. but she'd never get on it and mow the lawn, even if she was healthy enough to get out of bed.

the laziest lawnmower is the one who makes someone else do it!

Just joined this today, When I saw the meanness represented by a lot of the comments, I wondered what I had stumbled into.
This is a real can-do American. Even though she is confined to a wheelchair, she makes every effort to do for herself. You claim she can walk, but do you know that? Many conditions make it possible to be ambulatory for a few minutes at a time.
Her topper tops it off. That indicates she is a member of the Red Hat Society, a group of ladies dedicated to maintaining their independence, at least in spirit.

Yes she can-do anything. She can-do McDonalds. She can do Burger King. She can-do pizza. She can do biscuits and gravy. What she cant do is resist food. I dont care about her medical condition. I probably helped pay for her medical bills and that scooter. Maybe she would be healthier if she walked the lawnmower. And all you people making excuses for her are just enabling her and other tubbys everywhere. Step away from the computer and dinner table and do something.

Funny how there were many, many fewer people with this 'disability' when I was a kid. I'm sure there are no soft drinks or snack cakes in her pantry. I'm sure it's all due to some medication she's on. It's probably a problem with her glands - her salivary glands. Call it a disability, and I'll smack you one. Muscular dystrophy is a disability. Obesity is getting what you deserve.

Being a gigantic fatass with no self-control is now the leading health problem in our country - diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems are through the roof. There is one exercise that can prevent it, and it goes like this: put your hands on the dinner table, and push yourself away. Works every time.

About her weight, if she has a condition, she is only compounding it by being that obese. By demanding that others do everything for her, you are actually wishing an untimely demise on her. At her level of fitness, I doubt she could push mow the entire yard all at once, but she could start by doing a little at a time and building back up.

For all you know this lady has a severe heart condition, known as cardiomyopathy, reducing her heart function and thus the stamina needed to push the lawn mower. That is a condition that can be contracted by an echo virus , something anyone can catch !

Perhaps diabetes has killed off the nerves in her feet, eliminating her ability to walk very far. Make note that at least she is still trying to get the yard mowed, and not standing there with a camera doing little else.
Maybe she has had a stroke or other vascular event that has crippled her .
Consider she may have been married to a smoker, whose second hand smoke wiped out her lung capacity for exercise.
Perhaps some clown wasn't paying attention, rattling on his cell phone while smoking his cigarette, driving at 90 m.p.h, and turns her into the innocent victim of a motor vehicle accident.
I see all the cynical remarks posted here. While making fun of another person who is sometimes confined to a motorized wheelchair seems, for some at least , to be great sport, I wonder if those same people somehow have anchors (instead of wheelchairs) attached to them, preventing the lending of a helping hand.
Count your blessings people ...one day this could be YOU ! !

Her chair was probably paid for with your tax dollars. The radio ads running for the Scooter Store say they'll get your chair for you by billing your insurance and/or Medicare. If they can't get someone else to foot the bill they'll give your chair for free. I'm guessing my tax dollars are buying a lot of chairs for a lot of fat asses.

How long will it be before your tax dollars are spent on providing lawn care so this poor, poor, pitiful poor woman doesn't have to mow it herself?

That will give her more time to go to the mall and to eat three helpings plus two desserts at Ruby's Cafeteria.

I have bad knees that are getting replaced next month. Perhaps this woman has ones in worse shape than mine. I actually admire her gumption in getting out of the house and doing what she is doing. She reminds me of a somewhat less modern variation on this I saw many years ago. A man with a lawn mower, and he was in a wheelchair, out tending his lawn!

I have no idea why she is so heavy and I also do not see it as being any of my business. The point is, she is at least trying to do something for herself rather than taking the woe-is-me path.

As for the red hat, perhaps he is a Linux fan?

Regardless of the cause of her condition - I love the photo. She's very clever indeed! She's mowing her lawn while I'm sitting here in my chair looking out the window at a lawn that is desperate need of attention - so I suppose she's one upped me! :)

The cause of her condition is a loss of self control and perhaps self respect. I don't care what medical condition anyone has, that is disgusting. Calories in minus calories burned... It's not that hard. If you have a surplus it will be stored as fat, if you have a deficit it you will start losing weight. Follow her ass to the grocery store and I bet you'll see what her 'condition' is.

Hey, I'll give her props for taking care of the lawn, which looked pretty good in this photo. You should see the crappy overgrown lawns in my neighborhood, because of the able-bodied deadbeats who somehow managed to come up with the scratch to buy a home here (but don't give a damn about taking care of it).

wow this is absolutely terrible the way people are making fun of her like this. My grandmother has a medical condition that caused her to gain weight and made her obese after she had my mother. And my grandma used to be very skinny. She has tried everything from exercising to eating healthy, and she still cannot shed the pounds. My Aunt had a debilitating disease which confined her to a motorized wheelchair. She took steroids to help, but she became overweight. Maybe this woman has a medical problem that she's taking steroids for? It may hurt her to walk long distances and at least she's making an effort to get this done on her own. After all, I don't see you offering to help her.
