Room rates by the hour?

That's the feel of the image, to me and if it wasn't for the self-portrait tag, I wouldn't feel weird saying that, but now I am not sure of the intent.

Regardless, it triggers feeling which makes it an extremely well done shot...

i love the cocked cigarette, the bra marks in the delicate skin, his casualness, his hand holding a jack daniels, the unused ice bucket, as though anything happening in that room will be happening at room or body temperature, his toes pointed, erect.
as though ...
just wonderful. i adore it. you dear soul.

Thank you, thank you!

@Joe -- not by the hour, but cash only. And there's a careful difference between "self-portrait" and "self-construction" ;)

@Trish -- you've gone and made me blush again!

@Tony -- I *love* North Bay. Admittedly, that's based on an overnighter. But still ...

@Raindog -- I love the bottle of Jack too ;)

@Jimmy -- God help my editors if I ever write a book ... Good thing I hate writing!

@Dave -- *thank you* in particular! I adore Nan Goldin's work -- she captured a time and place I have often felt to be the life I didn't choose, once upon a time.

@Daniel -- It was nice meeting you too. :)

My first view at this kind of work. Normally, I see sunsets, flowers, insects, HDR composed images of storms coming up. This is a whole new experience. It's got something, something obscure about it, although it's a very real photo. Thank's for sharing, I'll check it out more.

@Laura -- I just wanted to come back to thank you for looking at the details -- I'm so glad that someone other than me sees those things!

@en.tro.py -- Pulp fiction! I love that!

@Spoker & KLEMANTIN -- that's the thing with photography, isn't it. Everything's there, in front of the camera, so it must be "real", right?

@géraud -- Je rougis encore! Mais tu as une idée ... intéressante de la tendresse ;)

@Allan -- soundtrack: North Bay's Fox Radio's 1021 Greatest Classic Rock songs: www.foxradio.ca/music/survey.jsp

@Liz -- either braver or much more foolish! I've swallowed a lot of vanity lately, but it goes down better with a shot or two of bourbon.

@la-la-laine -- This was about 100 shots with flash, so I figure the cabins across the way might have been amused :)

@oscar -- Get out of my makeup bag!!!

@Wolfastra -- I *love* Kundera - thank you!

@Kaiju -- My children are proud of my work, thanks.

@Roger -- You know your mouse better than I know mine ;)

@Derrick -- Someday we'll compile a collection of all the things Boomslang means ;)

And many more thank you's!
