David and Shelly Burman fear a Town of Bracebridge crackdown on illegal properties will leave them homeless. David is battling leukemia. As his primary caregiver and wife, Shelly suffers from depression. The town has told them their home is illegally situated on a flood plain, and that their trailer home violates the Building Code. They have until May 1 to comply. As retirees, both subsist on a combined income of just $1,700 a month from the Ontario Disability Support Program, and say they can't afford to meet the town's demands.
