St Basil´s (dedicated to Muska-rat)

A crop here makes for a far more interesting photo. The other building distracts from a Beautiful capture.

A friend of mine used to say that he thought that the cathedral looked like a bunch of lolipops...
Well, i thought that maybe that sky would match with it then...
I tried to give it a Mad-Max look but it really seems to be... candy... :D

Piotr: They are depressing and boring. If I had a photo commented 234000 times but they are all codes... what can I learn from that? That means people don´t want to comment your photos, they post the code because they have to. Well, i see it this way: comment only if you feel like doing it... If you don´t, dont waste both, your time and mine with that.... But that´s my point of view... Thanks, but there are some awesome photos of the red square all over flickr.

Maistora: Well, it took me quite a while to make it look convincing.. I´m glad you liked it. Another task also was to remove the tourists by darkening, but making it look good. Thanks :D

SpAcEjUnKy: Thanks. Well, the detail was just the photo and a little of sharpening with the unshapr mask filter of PS. Then I just changed the sky. For that i first had to pain the colours I wanted in a new layer. Then i picked the sky from another shot (the sky on this was a plain light blue) so i had those clouds and shapes. I just played with the blend modes. Then I changed the background layer to make it look a little more redish (it would have looked weird to see that sky with the buildings lighted with blue-white light... :D
And i darkened the people.
It tooked me about 30 minutes or maybe 40...
I hope that explains everything... :D

The Red Latern: Well, it´s just sharp, were it has to. Maybe that´s what seems to be HDR...

TEN comments (dayangchi - psychaSec - bryanilona - Mustangaly - tingywendle - Awaraa - Alexandre Simöes - Simona Andrei - Mocaw - mmelgosa1) had to be deleted due to they were SPAM!! I thought that most of the people using flickr had leart to read at school...

Great postprocessing on this. I absolutely love the vivid sky and the sharpness and contrast of the ornate designs on the top of the cathedrals. Were this the actual scene, metering it would've been a nightmare, I bet ;-) But regardless, great shot! Instant favorite.

Phijomo: Thanks, mate. Well, metering wasnt hard because a part of the camera broke down, and it´s the part that enables you to change the shutter speeds and the appertures, so i shot it in auto-mode...
It was a blue-clean afternoon... the sky it´s completely post-processed...

Firstsheaf: The thing about the html codes it´s that: some groups say that if you want to comment a photo, you must ADD a code that they give you and looks like:

But some people just paste that and say nothing. It´s like they just want to pretend they have commented. Well, I say that if you have nothing to say, don´t say nothing, but if you have to, don´t paste the code that another guy did...
Because then you have 300 comments that are this kind of "awards" but any with something valuable...
It´s just that i got tired of that... It´s my problem i know... But the taste of the power to delete is so sweet :D

A really great job and great use of the colors for the sky. I especially liked and noticed how the people in the bottom of this picture seemed to be burned in so as not to distract from the main subjects ie: tops of the buildings. You did a fantastic job with this one. It out to be a great postcard seller in Russia or used in travel brochures.
