Jubilee's Monogrammed Cookies

Jubilee's Monogrammed Cookies

Along with a sculpted puppy cake, Jubilee’s mom requested monogrammed cookies with a glamorous and glitzy motif for her mini fashionista’s second birthday celebration. My inspiration for the designs: vintage Hollywood. I wanted classy without being too fussy or over the top. Black sanding sugar and 24k gold were used to give the cookies that extra bit of bling. Individually packaged and tied with a black satin ribbon, these sugar cookies are a great way to thank party guests for attending an event.

Lyle's Baptism Cake

Lyle's Baptism Cake

About this time last year, I was working on Lyle's baptism cake. I can't believe how much time has passed since. I had forgotten all about it and recently came across this picture on my pc. Soft pastel colours, perfect for a baby boy.

Dawn's Chanel 2.55 Cake

Dawn's Chanel 2.55 Cake

For my sister’s birthday this year, I decided to create an edible version of her black Caviar Chanel 2.55 bag. Red velvet cake layered with cinnamon cream cheese buttercream mimicked the red interior of the bag. The double CC turn-style lock and chain were painted with edible 24k gold dust and lemon extract. Each link of the chain was handmade with fondant interwoven between the chain links, a task that was time consuming but something I felt was necessary to the design of the cake. I hope my sister liked it.

Happy birthday Dawn!

Stella & Mark's Wedding Cake

Stella & Mark's Wedding Cake

I love weddings and always feel honoured when asked to create the wedding cake, especially if it’s for a close friend. I’ve known Stella for many years and can truly say that she has found her perfect match in Mark. The couple exchanged vows at the Gardiner Museum during a sunset ceremony overlooking Queen’s Park and the downtown skyline. Later, guests enjoyed a sumptuous three course meal prepared by Jamie Kennedy Kitchens amidst flickering candlelight and tall narrow vases filled with white dendrobium orchids.

Tailored to reflect the minimalist design of the venue as well as the chic urban style of this trendy couple, the cake was adorned with deep purple orchids and the bands wrapping each tier was brushed to simulate the look of dupioni silk. I also wanted to commemorate their dog Bailey who passed away two weeks before the wedding, by placing two tiny paw prints on the base of the cake.

Congratulations Stella and Mark. I hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon in Paris!
