Barbara Shows Off the Art

As Katie West said when I showed this to her last night, this shot's got things I love. Back-lighting, beautiful girl, wicked tattoo.

That there is, for me, an easy recipe for success, I tell you what.

I spent a good portion of this shoot trying to get a satisfactory shot of Barbara's back tattoo. The main challenge was that I'd already taken a shot of her back that I really liked , so I felt the need to not only take a good shot, but a good shot that was different from the last one.

So, I went to the old familiars, the back-lighting, the hands up in the hair, let the tattoo do the work.

It's weird, having a body of photos up on the internet, I can go back and see similarities, visual themes, repetitions. Fortunately, the things I repeat are things I like, so I've no problem doing them again and again.

Hell, in the final analysis, that's just about all I want from life at this point, to find something I love, and do it again and again. And again.
