No one you see, is smarter than he

No one you see, is smarter than he

Dolphin Research Center on Grassy Key. Inside the park is the grave of Flipper. Maybe.

According to other sources, Flipper (who was played by many dolphins, mostly females) came from Miami Seaquarium, not here. Who knows, really. It's all so confusing and contradictory. Just sing the song and believe whatever you prefer...

Everyone loves the king of the sea,
ever so kind and gentle is he,
tricks he will do when children appear,
and how they laugh when he's near!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
no-one you see, is smarter than he,
and we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
flying there-under, under the sea!

Rick Kilby knows that abduction is imminent, just just hopes they're over all that "probing" stuff.

Moondance

Moondance

About 9pm, full moon, clear skies, and Smathers Beach‎ on Key West. Seems that we had beautiful moonlit nights the whole time we were there. (in FLA)

The polar opposite to the alcohol-fuled noise and bustle of Duval St.

This scene is totally lit by the moon, with a slight glow from streetlights nearby. I think I did a 10 second shutter to get this, and balanced the camera on a post. (Couldn't carry my tripod on the scooter.)

This photo pretty much requires seeing it in lightbox for full effect.

Wally Gator

Wally Gator

No, it's "Swampy", 200' long, and in the running for "world's largest alligator". (There's a battle among fake alligators down here over who's "largest".)

Jungleland Adventure (here) is another of the "old Florida" gator attractions. It's almost $20/person, so we decided to wait and spend our gator dollars later in the trip, and less of them too.
