Sunset was a bit of a no show tonight! I think after last night's stunning performance that's only fair…..

This is for Our Daily Challenge today, "seen from above"
This is with my new macro set up - a Canon 50mm f1.8 reverse mounted on to my camera with a couple of macro extension tubes. I'm slowly improving at focussing (as it is sooooo sensitive!), but not 100%.

The background for this image is a bit rubbish, but at least he is from "above"!! Taken looking down on to our decking in the back yard.

This is taken using my new macro set up.
It's my 50mm F1.8 reverse mounted. The reverse ring was $2 off eBay.
I also attached some macro tubes, $6 off eBay.
Voila! A cheap alternative to macro :-D

Only issue is that focusing is extreeeeeemely difficult. The aperture automatically opens up to f00 - wide open. This gives a very very shallow depth of field, and due to having to be so close to the subject, every slight movement effects the focus. This isn't sharp, and I know it isn't! But I quite like the effect anyway.

I've just been reading up on some forums on how to trick the camera into having a narrower aperture when reverse mounting lenses, so I'll have a bit more of a play with that later when I get back from work.

This is for Our Daily Challenge group (but I'm a couple of days behind!!), "fill the frame" - I filled it with a curly leaf!

Awesome sunset tonight. I think I have a few usable images, but I will have a real look and process through them tomorrow! There's not enough hours in the day! I need some magic stay-awake power!
