60's_safeway_2

These arched buildings built in the '60s were once instantly recognizable nationwide as Safeway grocery stores. This Marina style Safeway is at 11th and Denver. As one of my readers has pointed out, this one was converted into a Homeland in the '90s, which explains the more modern signage and color scheme.

As of the end of 2008, this building still stands empty and in very good shape.
