Blaze !

Blaze !

Watercolour done on Saunders Waterford 200LB rough with M Graham Watercolours .15" X 22" I decided to Fill the sheet with this poppy focusing on luminosity, light & textures,I probably in future concentrate on using both hot pressed & wood pulp papers for these kind of floral works as you can achieve even more movement with them and continually manipulate the painting which you cannot do as much with the cotton papers.(Best viewed Large)

Art courses painting stock

Art courses painting stock

Getting very close to going live with this,It has taken a lot of time ,effort & research as well as negotiation to aquire the ideal painting stock, particularly as a lot of it will be done "Pleine Aire" ! I had to take everything into account from distances travelled from car and the likelyhood of having numerous senior citizens present at these courses. The hardest part were weight issues, so i had to go for strong reliable multifunctional easels whilst being lightweight. I have field tested them and they are perfect for the job in hand. painting boards which unfortunately are not in the picture will be ultra lightweight upvc sandwiched foam boards ,this also will keep the weight down. Folding plastic pallettes filled with paint,no need to take tubes with us. The finest M Graham watercolour paints as supplied by Dianna Graham who deserves a big thank you for her support. The papers will be both Saunders waterford 200LB both in rough & CP and Arches which at present will be 140LB rough. and finally brushes, probably the biggest headache of all origanally, The cost is one thing, however,i always want top quality to work with so a lot of shopping around was called for and finally i tried out some Saa brush sets.Wow,years & years using sables and then i came across these, excellent water holding capacity and they snap back to the finest point making them ideal for large wash work or fine details, my favourite is the big whopper which is a size 30 and you could just go out with this one brush ! The brush sets contain eight brushes although i bought myself the one with fifteen brushes i will only use the eight when teaching and everyone will be using identicle equipment.

Watercolour done on Saunders Waterford 140LB rough with M Graham watercolours and a single size 16 round Brush ! We bought these persimmons, mangoes & necterines today & i couldnt resist painting them !
I had the results for my biopsy and have been given the all clear although i caught a secondary fungal infection in the wound which then opened up again ! i am on the mend now and surprizingly with the antibiotics it is healing quite quickly.

The Cottage Garden

The Cottage Garden

Watercolour done on Bockingford 200LB CP with M Graham Watercolours. 15" X 22".
A technically demanding rendition on a paper which i seldom use as i am not a lover of wood pulp based papers as they are too heavily sized. I wanted to create as much depth as possible whilst focusing on the details of the poppies.(Best Viewed Large)
