This is the construction site for a new paper plant in Shafter. There are a lot of companies relocating to our town, bringing jobs and revenue.

As construction crews lay more track to serve newly constructed business, more opportunity comes to our small town.

Sometimes a love of photography can afford certain benefits. Today at work I had the opportunity to escape my desk to go out and shoot some pictures of our city for an ad. My co-workers invited me up on the Rail King to go for a ride as we moved rail cars from the tracks to the businesses they serve. Afterward, they even let me drive the Rail King back to where I was parked.
