Please don't ask me what kind of flower that is. I saw them on a hike in the Swiss alps, from Casaccia to Vicosoprano via Maroz Dora, Maroz Dent, the Lägh da Cam and Sdarva. Google Earth is the only map service I found that has imagery of the region that is usable. The Yahoo Maps thingy on flickr is a bad joke. Anyway, it was great fun and quite demanding (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong!). Except for the descent, when we got caught in a thunderstorm the weather forecast had failed to predict. That was 1500 metres in altitude of volleyous sliding.

Found these recently on Kammertenberg. They're quite rare, actually.
Apparently, the english name is pasque flower and the latin one Pulsatilla
Vulgaris.
