I spent most of my time in Maine in the perennial garden, dividing and re-setting plants. One of the benefits was having this chance to see this White Admiral, Limenitis arthemis arthemis, which was my first good look at one. It's not rare, I just had never seen one before. I was lucky to have a camera in my hands the moment it landed on the Summersweet, because as soon as I tried to move it flew. This is not the impressive full wings open, dorsal shot, but it still pleases me.
