Interesting point. Mind you I don't begrudge
the licence fee a bit. When one switches
channels almost all of the hundreds I can get
on cable are showing adverts - they go on and
on and on ... I would gladly pay double the
licence fee so that I could get an advert
free tv service.

It is also true the Licence Fee coupled with
the Grant in Aid to BBC World Service funds
the BBC Online and BBC News Online (websites
and other online services).
Happy with that?
