Starbucks, Suffolk, Va

Starbucks, Suffolk, Va by Look In The Tunk.
this place was dead. I guess due to the fact that country folk dont "get" Starbucks.

Too bad. This is a really nice starbucks with a couch and nice chairs and a patio.

How'd you find a moment where there weren't scenesters and soccer moms lined up at the counter or laptopping in the seats? :)

Closed? Probably it is the ongoing staff training that Starbucks is implementing! (Remember when they temporarily closed ALL stores in the US a few months ago)!

Now they are currently getting flack for marketing their ORIGINAL 1971 logo on their cups!

um...you guys, i took this photo from the inside. I was a customer. One of the five I saw that afternoon.

I've noticed that coffee quality has gotten better due to the retraining this Spring.

Well, that's cool--although possibly the training happened just a bit too late.

Okay, that and the economy sucking. Last time this sort of thing happened, some espresso places folded, but that was before we had an international espresso chain.

**** Forgot to say: this is a nicely atmospheric shot. ****

One of the two Starbucks nearest my house (there are 3 within a mile), is always swamped with smoking teenagers. (Probably only the smoking teenagers too carless to drive to Coffee Society in The Pruneyard, which is the only bad part about going to see movies at the very nice Camera 7 next door.)

Heh . . .

Um, where is this in Suffolk, roughly speaking? Like near Walmart, Lowes' etc?

If it's anywhere near the old site of Louise Obici Memorial Hospital (on N. Main/Business 460), Starbucks can forget tempests in a coffee pot over busty logos. 'Cause the Apocalypse is at hand . . .

I guess Sunday School and Stephen King novels haven't taught folks anything: Some places were never meant for fancy coffee.

Yeah, across from the ghetto dump shopping center where Big Lots is.

There is a Starbucks in the Farm Fresh up the street, and usually they just have one barisa, and one customer. For like 30 minutes.

I saw the one in the Smithfield Farm Fresh and about fell out. "Whoa . . damn."

Then I saw the four horsemen (actually they driving Macks and Peterbilts), and things got real fuzzy. I came to in the frozen foods section, actually near the ice cream (which was convenient).

Happy caffeinations, y'all.
