Rialto 2009 |
Photos taken while on my yearly low
power (QRP) ham radio pilgrimage to
Rialto Beach, with my partner Maya. We
enjoyed both sunny weather and endured a
bit of rain. I talked to stations in
Tahiti, New Zealand, Hawaii and all over
the USA using a Hendricks PFR3
transceiver with four watts to an end
fed wire. A vertical wire next to salt
water is amazing: even with poor solar
conditions and low power one can work
the world. Maya and I enjoyed four days
of relaxing: she with her biography of
John Locke and I with my CW... The
wilderness coast of Washingtons Olympic
seashore is magic piece of planet
earth.
