well yes, it's very nice and all that but it
does remind me a little of a picture from a
"wellness" clinic brochure. Also,
there's some attention to detail needed here.
The two plastic loungers in the foreground do
nothing to conjour up the reordering of
consciousness and unleashing of spiritual
awareness that is Nirvana - at least not for
me. There are some other distracting
artifacts in the middle ground. I would have
nailed them with PS or perhaps another angle
might have eliminated the shoreline
altogether.
Though I find this image rather good and
compelling, Apathy gets my vote because of
it's rich tone and depth. I think this could
have used a little bit less exposure
compensation to really bring out the sky.
Great image, but I like apathy a bit more.
Beautiful picture, but it has the
disadvantage of going head to head with one
of my absolute favorites. My vote is for
Apathy.

Absolutely beautiful photo. Looks like a
scenario where you were at the right time and
the right place. when comparing the two, I'm
finding myself a bit more drawn to the
defender's. The DOF, simplicity and unique
subject matter gets my vote.
I like this one, deserves at least one vote.
Defender is a nice shot, but is close to
flower macro territory for me, and I'm not
sold on the background.
This is a nice photo, but it seems a bit
flat. The defenders photo has a depth to it,
along with a good composition and a sense of
delicacy that I think make it exceptional.
This just doesn't overcome that.
Like everyone else, I love this photo. Thanks
for releasing it under a CC license. I used
your photo in my Web comic (Office OFFline) with full attribution, of course, and a
link back to this page.
