      This bridge is to Europe what the Golden Gate is to America. There was a lot of initial opposition to the Golden Gate Bridge on the basis of it ruining the landscape, when in fact, much like the Millau Viaduc, it enhanced it to form a unique marriage of structure and landscape, providing a timeless landmark.
