Fitted Knits Bluebell

Fitted Knits Bluebell by LollyKnit.
One of the three patterns in the book, Fitted Knits: 25 Designs for the Fashionable Knitter, that I really liked.
I have to be honest, and I know I am in the minority on this one:
This book was a slight disappointment for me. I was expecting so much more. HOWEVER, these three patterns are beautiful and I hope to make them.

i'm in the minority too about the book. i'm not interested in any of the patterns for myself, but can't wait to see you make them.

Phew, so someone else feels it too... I was worried about writing it.

Thanks for your honest review of the book - I'll definitely check it out of the library before buying it.

I'm not sure I should write this, but I feel like there's a kind of positive review frenzy when it comes to books/patterns/yarn published/produced by knitbloggers - you almost never see anything with a bad review. I get that these are small business or single person ventures, but I also expect to get an excellent product and service, no matter what the source, when I hand over my hard earned cash.

There's definitely some yarns and books that I've bought that have overwhelmingly positive reviews on blogs that I was REALLY disappointed by. So much so that it wasn't clear to me why anyone would say it was good at all. And certainly bad enough that I was surprised that I hadn't seen ANY bad reviews out there. In comparison with the thrashing that magazines like Rowan get when they produce a so-so issue (and I've actually never completely agreed with those reviews, either) it's very strange.

Anyway, this is turning into a very long comment (almost a blog post in its own right!) but it's something I've been thinking about for a while now, and it's good to see someone else feel it. I, too, have been worried about writing bad reviews (so much so that I haven't written them). I guess I was worried about some sort of blogging community uprising against me (although, really, the number of people that read my blog is so small that this is unlikely to happen). :-)

Thanks again for your honest review.

Lolly, that's why there are so many books out there, because tastes differ! It's really hard to hit the generic audience, who will absolutely, love it all. I don't believe it's possible. You may find other people sharing your opinion. One person's bread is another person's poison. I personally like the periwinkle turtleneck to make, but question if i want a turtleneck for summer.
