I was fortunate to meet up with John Higgins and Rick Taylor this morning at Florida (Flor-EE-da) Canyon, which is adjacent to Madera Canyon. John quickly spotted this Townsend's Solitaire in the parking area before we set out on the trail. A lifer for me, though not the greatest shot.

I had the good fortune to meet up with Rick Taylor & his friends at Florida (Flor-EE-da) Canyon (adjacent to Madera Canyon) this morning, in search of the rare Rufous-capped Warblers that have been seen there over the last many weeks. I've tried twice before without success, but with Rick's expert help, we were able to locate them again. Horrible photo, as it was in a very dark, shady area. I had to really over-process in PSE, reduce noise, etc, and this was the best I could do. It was a lifer for me, so I thought I'd post anyway.

I had the best-ever "session" with Common Yellowthroat Warblers at Sweetwater Wetlands. These usually elusive and skittish warblers started out that way, hidden in the reeds, barely visible & quickly disappearing, but then came out to drink from Hidden Pond.
