Capper __apper?![]() ![]() Rachael and I must have stared at this for at least five minutes trying to determine what in the hell this BAD typography is supposed to say. Capper Mapper? Capper Happer? Capper J Capper? Is it an ampersand? I still have no idea.

Hart, Schaffner & Marx's (now HartMarx)
retail division of upscale men's clothing.
There were 6 locations - the main one was on
the northeast corner of Madison and Wabash.
The company was in business for more than 100
years. My father worked there from 1955
until it went out of business in 1996. I
worked there from 1978 until moving to
HartMarx in 1986.
