Bad News

Bad News by Liz Bradley (nee Kerrison).
We took Paddington to the vet yesterday and got some bad news.

We've been informed that she has luxating patellas in both her hind legs. it means her knee caps are loose and moving around, causing her pain. we took her to the vet to check out a limp that developed about a month ago and thought it might be that, but i was really surprised to hear it's BOTH knees are going to have to be fixed.

the vet has to call a specialist who will tell us if we can do both at the same time, or if it will be done in 2 parts so she will likely need 2 surgeries.

she's never been really able to jump very high and never liked stairs, and now we have found out that this is likely the reason.

it's stressful and i'm worried about her, but she will have a better life after the surgeries.

poor little girl.

Laura told me about the bad news from your facebook status!! Really sorry to hear that!! What has helped us a lot is MediCard we have used it for both knees on Joseph and it has saved us at least finacially. Because I know that those kind of surgeries can very easy go into the tousands! Joseph's knee was this time $3200.-. Thanks to Medicard I don't even have to spend a cent until January 1 when the paymens start for 12 months...
But please keep us updated on how she is doing and let us know what the specialist had to say.
