    Lane and I were having a conversation in my office about the balance of freedom and responsibility, and I drew this as an illustration.

      I think it'd be more linear or at least the tail on the right should go up higher than the apex of the bell...the more responsible you are, yes the more obligations, but if you're even more responsible you can marshall the resources to be flexible in dealing with your obligations and to do things others are not free to do...like go into space.
