A few things. First, Tour Montparnasse is actually closer to 200m (210m to be exact) than 300m. Secondly, this photo is focused on Champs de Mars and the École Militaire, so I'm not sure why Tour Montparnasse is given so much attention. This is a beautiful photo; unfortunately, you decided to focus on the wrong subjects.

There is no skyline near it, tour montparnasse is just standing there totally alone. Offcourse the focus is on that then. If I wanted to focus on Champs de Mars and the École Militaire I would've cropped it.

But anyway, thanks for the criticism! Most people don't take that much time for a photograph.

Considering the light on the foreground it certainly is a focal point given the rest of the background just blurs away.

I think given a bright day with more sun on it it could vie with the granduar of what is Paris.
At least the view from the tower doesn't line it uo with the park as a Washington monument -Mall-WH alignment that would have given it more place value.
But as it is it's very french-they even give themselves the bird.
