At the 5:45, at the Flinders Memorial Park, Rockingham. Several hundred people gathered to remember the fallen souls, that gave their lives in service for their mates, husbands, wives, children, mothers and fathers. For their country and for each other. Real people in bad places, at the wrong time, that did their duty and gave the ultimate sacrifice for another, their life.
The ANZAC Day of remembrance, may have been initiated by the tragic loss of so many at Anzac Cove. But today, almost 1 hundred years later, we remember and acknowledge all the lives lost in services to their country in lands away from, and at home. So many have gone before us, that history has become legend and an inspiration for us today, as an example of self sacrifice and service to others.
