At Goodwill today, I found a bag of old wooden spools of thread. I love the old wooden spools, so I brought them home. Most of them are mercerized cotton. A couple are nylon, and there are a bunch of silk threads too. I don't know what I will do with them now. The silk seems to be in good condition, so I may sew with that for SCA projects that require authentic materials.

I love them too much to unload them.
There was a second bag of them at the thrift store that day, but another woman grabbed that bag before I could. :)
