My grandma's pumpkin pie recipe
I found a bunch of my old stuff in a box upstairs. This card fell out of a book. It is my grandma's pie recipe, in her handwriting, I think. (I'm pretty sure it's not my mom's handwriting, which used to be similar but not as even... but maybe it is hers and it has just changed over the years). The source is given as "Mom " so maybe it's really my great-grandma's recipe.
This recipe, unlike most pumpkin pie recipes you see, does not use evaporated milk. It's just as good as those that do, if not better. I make this recipe every year.
The back of the card says: "For 2 pies use large can pumpkin and double everything else."
11/20/12: Someone asked me today, so I should clarify -- you cook for 10 minutes at 450, then lower the heat to 350 and cook 30 minutes more.
